Importing LED lights & lamps from China into the EU

LED lights are not a simple product to regulate. As the importer you take on manufacturer responsibility: electrical safety, EMC, substance restrictions, energy efficiency and — for integrated LEDs — photobiological safety.

Yes, once it transmits/receives radio — incl. cybersecurity requirements since 01 Aug 2025.
03What is photobiological safety?+
EN 62471/62778 assess the blue-light hazard (RG0–RG3). A missing report is a typical gap.
04Do I have to register my LED lamp in EPREL?+
Light sources yes, before placing on the market under (EU) 2019/2015. The luminaire label was removed on 25 Dec 2019.
