Amazon blocked your product over GPSR — here is what to do
When Amazon deactivates a listing for missing product conformity or under the GPSR, you usually have capital tied up in goods you can no longer sell. The good news: in most cases the block is reversible once you provide the right evidence in the right form.
Why Amazon blocks
Since the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR, Regulation (EU) 2023/988) applies from 13 Dec 2024, Amazon requires demonstrable safety and labelling evidence per product. If it is missing, Amazon deactivates the offer automatically — often without saying which document is missing.
Steps to reactivate
- Read the exact reason. In Seller Central under Account Health / Manage Your Compliance you will find the requested evidence type.
- Check the Responsible Person. Without an EU-established Responsible Person whose address is on the product, much stays blocked.
- Provide the Declaration of Conformity (DoC). It must name the specific product, the applicable legislation and the standards applied — not a generic template.
- Show technical documentation / risk assessment. Amazon may require proof that a risk analysis exists.
- Submit a Plan of Action. For account warnings: short and factual — root cause, immediate action, prevention.
- After reinstatement, fix the root cause. The block returns if the same evidence gap reappears on the next batch or ASIN.
The honest core
Most blocks happen because at import time it was unclear which standards apply to this exact product and what evidence the supplier must provide. After the container, curing it is expensive. Before the order, it is one question.
Greenlist shows you the relevant test paths, the open evidence gaps and the questions for your supplier — per SKU, before the PO. Greenlist drafts the document-solvable evidence (declaration of conformity, RoHS DoC, listing block) and tells you where accredited lab testing is required.
